That Perfect Seed

To wait, to stand strolling the world with your mind,
Earth beneath you, pushing you to attend to something grand,
Touching the dust in your pocket, your fingers feel the only world that is,
The counting down till, is filled with those walks you take in your mind,

Coming closer to the time of encounter with the moment meet to come,
You imagine the world that will be in the next couple of minutes,
The anticipation kills you,
The expected image may disappoint and that makes your fingers sweat,
The dust now attached to your finger, your steps take your heart in circular shapes.

Awaiting the greeting time, you struggle with your own fear of saying bye,
Simplicity is all you praise but your approach so complicated all the time,
Correspondence of two minds, the authenticity you offer is too much,
Games are played and games are played thus,
You have to pick up a stick and swing a stick.

How should he communicate it to you that he dreams of the perfect greeting time,
When all you anticipate is the time of goodbye?

Its only been a minute in this valley we call life,
Its only been a drop in this pond set cause of a dam.
Coming together slowly, but answers and seeds fruit soon
and you by necessity will never be satisfied till that first perfect bite.

In Dialectic of Enlightenment, Adorno and Horkheimer display the modern man as a determined being, encapsulated in the cocoon that enlighten schematization has fabricated for it.

- Yet the city housing projects designed to perpetuate the individual as a supposedly independent unit in a small hygienic dwelling make him all the more subservient to his adversary: the absolute power of capitalism.

- Movies and radio need no longer pretend to be art. The truth that they are just business is made into ideology in order to justify the rubbish they deliberately produce.

- Dialectic and progression in art  When the detail won its freedom, it became rebellious and, in the period from Romanticism to Expressionism, asserted itself as free expression, as a vehicle of protest against the organization. In music the single harmonic effect obliterated the awareness of form as a whole; in painting the individual color was stressed at the expense of pictorial composition; and in the novel psychology became more important than structure. The totality of the culture industry has put an end to this.
- The whole inevitably bears no relation to the details- just like the career of a successful man into which everything is made to fit as an illustration or a proof, whereas it is nothing more that the sum of all those idiotic events.
- Dominant idea is to ensure order not coherence, for there is no antithesis, no connection and no dialectic harmony. Their prearranged harmony is a mockery of what had to be striven after in the great bourgeois works of art.
- Intent upon reproducing the world of every day perceptions, the more intensely and flawlessly his techniques duplicate empirical objects, the easier it is today for the illusion to prevail that the outside world is the straightforward continuation of that presented on the screen.

- Films leave no room for imagination or reflection on the part of the audience. The audience is unable to respond within the structure of the film, yet deviate from its precise detail without losing the thread of the story; hence the film forces its victims to equate it directly with reality.

- The producers are experts. The idiom demands an astounding productive power, which it absorbs and squanders.
- In a diabolic way it has overreached the culturally conservative distinction between genuine and artificial style. A style might be called artificial which is imposed from without on the refractory impulses of a form. But in the culture industry every element of the subject matter has its origin in the same apparatus as that jargon whose stamp it bears.
- The quarrels in which the artistic experts become involved with sponsor and censor about a lie going beyond the bounds of credibility are evidence not so much of an inner aesthetic tension as of a divergence of interests.
- Hence the style of the culture industry, which no longer has to test itself against any refractory material, is also the negation of style.

- In the culture industry the notion of genuine style is seen to be the aesthetic equivalent of domination. Style considered as mere aesthetic regularity is a romantic dream of the past.

The style of their works gave what was expressed that force without which life flows away unheard.

- That factor in a work of art which enables it to transcend reality certainly cannot be detached from style; but it does not consist of the harmony actually realized, of any doubtful unity of form and content, within and without, of individual and society; it is to be found in those features in which discrepancy appeals: in the necessary failure of the passionate striving for identity.
- Having ceased to be anything but style, it reveals the latter’s secret: obedience to the social hierarchy.
- This is aesthetic barbarity.
- To speak of culture was always contrary to culture. Culture as a common denominator already contains embryo that schematization and process of cataloging and classification which bring culture within the sphere of administration. - By subordinating in the same way and to the same end all areas of intellectual creation, by occupying men’s senses from the time they leave the factory in the evening to the time they clock in again in the next morning with matter that bears the impress of the labor process they themselves have to sustain throughout the day, this subsumbtion mockingly satisfies the concept of a unified culture which the philosophers of personality contrasted with mass culture.
- So the culture industry, the most rigid of all styles, proves to be the goal of liberalism, which is reproached for its lack of style.

- The public voices of modern society accusations are seldom audible; if they are, the perspective can already detect signs that the dissident will soon be reconciled.

- Significantly, the system of the culture industry comes from the more liberal industrial nations, and its entire characteristics media, such as movies, radio and magazines.

- The power of the culture industry resides in its identification with a manufactured need, and not in simple contrast to it, even if this contrast were one of complete powerlessness.
- Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work. It is sought after as an escape from the mechanized work process, and to recruit strength in order to be to cope with it again.
- Mechanization has such power over a man’s leisure and happiness, and so profoundly determines the manufacture of amusement goods, that his experiences are inevitably after images of the work process itself.
- The ostensible content is merely a faded foreground; what sinks in is the automatic succession of standardized operations.
- What happens at work, in the factory, or in the office can only be escaped from by approximation to it in one’s leisure time.

- No independent thinking must be expected from the audience: the product prescribes every reaction: not by its natural structure, but by signals.

- To walk from the street into the movie theatre is no longer to enter a world of dream.
- The culture industry perpetually cheats its consumers of what it perpetually promises.
- Metaphor The diner must be satisfied with the menu. In front of the appetite stimulated by all those brilliant names and images there is finally set no more than a commendation of the depressing everyday world it sought to escape.

- The culture industry does not sublimate, it represses.
- Works of art are ascetic and unashamed; the culture industry is pornographic and prudish.
- Mechanical reproduction of beauty, which reactionary cultural fanaticism wholeheartedly serves in its methodical idolization of individuality, leaves no room for that unconscious idolatry which once essential to beauty.
- Laughter, whether conciliatory or terrible, always occurs when some fear passes. It indicates liberation either from physical danger or from the grip of logic.

- In the false society laughter is a disease which has attacked happiness and is drawing it into its worthless totality.
- To laugh at something is always to deride it, and the life which, according to Bergson, in laughter breaks through the barrier, is actually an invading barbaric scruple when the social occasion arises. Such a laughing audience is a parody of humanity. Its harmony is a caricature of solidarity.
- What is fiendish about this false laughter is that it is a compelling parody of the best, which is conciliatory.
- Delight v. laughter.
- In the culture industry, jovial denial takes the place of the pain found in ecstasy and in asceticism. The supreme law is that they shall not satisfy their desires at any price; they must laugh and be content with laughter.
- What is decisive today is no longer Puritanism, although it still assets itself in the form of women’s organizations, but the necessity inherent in the system not to leave the customer alone, not for a moment to allow him any suspicion that resistance is possible.

- The principle dictates that he should be shown all his needs as capable of fulfillment, but that those needs should be so predetermined that he feels himself to be the eternal consumer, the object of the culture industry.
- Not only does it make him believe that the deception it practices is satisfaction, but it goes further and implies that, whatever the state of affairs, he must put up with what is offered.
- Pleasure promotes the resignation which it ought to help to forget.
- Amusement, if released from every restraint, would not only be the antithesis of art but its extreme role.
- Pure amusement in its consequence, relaxed self-surrender to all kinds of associations and happy nonsense, is cut short by the amusement on the market: instead, it is interrupted by a surrogate overall meaning which the culture industry insists on giving to its products, and yet misuses as a mere pretext for bringing in the stars.
- The deception is not that the culture industry supplies amusement but that it ruins the fun by allowing business considerations to involve it in the ideological clichés of a culture in the process of self-liquidation.

- The culture industry is corrupt; not because it I a sinful Babylon but because it is a cathedral dedicated to elevated pleasure.

- The lucky actors on the screen are copies of the same category as ever member of the public, but such quality only demonstrates the insurmountable separation of the human elements.
- The perfect similarity is the absolute difference. The identity of the category forbids that of the individual cases.
- Ironically, man as a member of a species has been made a reality by the culture industry.
- Now any person signifies only those attributes by which he can replace everybody else: he is interchangeable, a copy. As an individual he is completely expendable and utterly insignificant.

The guiding tail

At 5, while bouncing the soccer ball on the wall of my room, I asked myself if I'll be me when I become 10. At 10 while holding the mirror, while laying upside down on the stairs, I looked at my self, in the eyes and tried locate any specs of hair on my chin. I realized that I'll remain the same when I become an adult. It bothered me. How can I remain and become? How can I remain this, while I am constantly becoming that.

Everything that I wondered as a child trailed me to my current addiction to constant thinking. I never dealt with transitions very well. Yet I constantly put my self in situations that made it mandatory for me to experience one.

About this trailing, when did I begin to become me? When is it that lack of self conscious inhibition, that total naturalness pauses and one supposedly becomes master of his own destiny? When did "I" take my life out of cruise control and begin to manipulate it according to "my" wishes, "my" standards, and "my" existential outlook of what a "life" should feel like?

The trailing began for its own sake, at some point out of somewhere, extra (outside) realm of natural intuition. I propose my world is thus because of something that happened. Nurture can be traced back to a state that to a naked eye looks completely detached from any manipulation, alternation and seems to be totally natural. I propose the first day at school, the firs time you got a hair cut, the first time you cut your finger, first time you wore shoes with shoe laces, the first time you took a shower, first light at the hospital, the first song you sensed in the womb, all are causes. They caused you to be directed some how, some way.

True genuine wills bring about a vastly more diverse world population than we have today. Our past trail us and the true self, that self discovery everyone is talking about, is acknowledging that ever so disappearing tail that seems to mark a trail when we go through deserts and wetlands of life. Its a mistake to think its marking a trail. A genuine life lived, follows the trail from the moment of departure "back" to the moment of cognizant birth.

Leaves of the roots

The pioneer promoting an innovation in thought and action will face an unrehearsed destiny. Those who do something new will face a new fate. It’s in the hands of the times that innovation will rise out of the individual, for the collective. The procedure taken by history is beyond man’s control in the individual sense. Yet it is always individuals who are remembered by collective memory, for generation there after, known to be pioneers, innovator of ideas. Thus ideas flow through history, within individual agents who face unrehearsed destinies, struggling with the status quo. It is not the job for all, for all would be remembered. Those who humbly acknowledge their personal obligation to the collective and to history will be bolded in name for ages to come. These are the individuals we may owe our very existence to. These are the people who shape our very existence. For the trees, with great aesthetic manifestations above the soil, the leaf owes its existence to the roots. Those who partake the role of pioneers are the water of the well from which we are kept alive in the other wise desert of stagnation.
One might naively ask, why shouldn’t one be stagnated? For the same reason that, existence hasn’t and never will be with out turbulence. For the world of status quo has with in it a natural tendency to be always in flux as are the colors of the trees. The sun determines the conditions of the latter. It is out of the leaf’s control to drop in October. It is out of the tree’s control to blossom in May. The roots have orders from above. As the world of flux is present in nature, man being part of nature must oblige to the same law.
Man thinks and feels and dreams. The dreams respond to conditions determined by history. It is out of man’s control to think. It is out man’s control to feel. Revolutions emerge when man obliges to ideals. Pioneers are always radicals in their times, full of creativity, imagination and persistence yet with out history's urge, the conditions for the emergence of historic figures won’t be met till history itself determines it. For history is always in search for men such as MLK to be produced into figures of admiration in present for the future.
All the great figures wanted the same thing. All of them were after unity. All of them, all of the men and women, figures of our past, wanted to share; they wanted their individualism to be wiped away, to be replaced; so there can emerge the unity with others which they had desperate longing for.
So why some and not all? How come so few in numbers are those whose names have persisted through history? What did they have in their possession that made them distinguishable?
They lacked control, since it was history that would decide whom she wants to assign the job to. As the proverb reads “the real loser is the one who is so afraid of losing that he doesn’t even make an attempt”. All figures whose names are bolded in history must have been brave, curious, passionate, desperate enough so that they would organize their thought, their action, their dreams to correspond to societal and cultural and historical needs of their times. It was their constant readiness to be revealed what the needs of their society was that shown their candidacy legitimate for history to choose them.

“Maintain constant states of revelation for truths will be revealed thus then.”

It must not be easy to make the correspondence mentioned above. To sacrifice your whole being for a cause that was necessitated by history to be revealed, not even knowing the ending. For it was easy, if the ending was entailed from the beginning the numbers of what we know as great men would be many more. For it must have been a strenuous stress on the body and the mind to become aware of the times need. But my point is this, that man writes history about man. Yet it is always man that writes history about men, who with the full force of their will acknowledged their insignificance as individuals and let history choose them as leaders of a movement, as scientists… as dreamers to revolutionize the world as they knew it to a new direction.

When you mess up its there. Its there so often, you forget its there. As the ideas flow, the mind changes, the ambitions are pursued, as the fingers dance on the key board, the Back Space button is forever a pal. "Dear employer...I am desperate to be on my own. Not that I want to be working but because I want to be free from the burden of seeing a certain reflection of myself in my parents eyes. The certain reflection that screams, bum." But you can't really say that. In a free country you are only free as "free" entails. Being yourself is dangerous to your survival. So the Back space is clicked, clicked again, then pushed down till the sentence starts off like this: "Dear employer, I am a recent graduate from...I have work experience in...I value... would love the opportunity to speak with you," so I can communicate to you my desperation. In theory the Back Space should save me from the prospect of that certain reflection. In theory the academic path was the right way towards success. What did I gain from it? In essence, it limited the amounts of time I could press the button. Slowly and procedurally it trained the right pinky to stay focused, and urged it to pass on the temptation of going back. For, the best you do is the thing you do on time. There is only so much care can be put into a work before it "has to be" turned in. In theory the academia is a place for the development of the mind and potential job marketability. In essence the academia develops the a sense of urgency towards production "as fast" not production "with care." I am obviously equivocating "care" with a positive notion; something like "perfection is care;" and I guess you can have perfection with speed. Is it inherent in "progress" to be accelerating. For the walk allows a look ahead at the roadside debris. The fast moving train on the other hand, will take us all at a speed where glancing back is only a chance. Since there is a need for decrease in making mistakes and there is a desire for speed, it is a luxury for those who have the fast and sharp eyes to look back. Thus historicity presents itself as a paradox in pace.

Phenomenology of Waking Out Towards

Convoluted times,
Ever stretching knots,
Sleeping eyes awake,
Seeing through the ties,

glimpse of a moving object,
surrender to light,
slowly, the lashes part,
now the figure becomes,

covered, the whole body stays shut,
for so long,
as it perspires fear of facing the thing in it self,
it closes its ears and chooses to assemble a curtain,
ties, knots, corridors of light,
the fabric the lashes once again.

Counting to ready itself to face the illumination,
it has two choices:
to accept the awakening moment as it becomes,
clearly he avoids surrender as long as it might;
the other, is to eyes wide,
knots broken at once,
facing the dizzying moment of revelation at once.

For the prophet does as it sees fit at once,
spontaneity runs,
as the river does.

Flowing with in itself, towards something bigger outside,
it resembles the flying pelicans approaching the water,
the prey readies itself likewise,

once, at once, for once, it snaps towards,
as it has been doing all along,
spontaneously for the the sake of,

and so it continues to avoid all distractions!

Intentionality, an explanation for "determinacy"

Must consider the practical aspect of our life in the context of the world. We must find out what is it that we know of the world, then proceed to ask ontological questions. Thus, we may be able to locate ourselves within this realm.
Questions of freedom must arise at the deepest roots. It's not a choice to attend to something that got your attention. Continuance of behavior has been termed habit, but those who use methods, were pushed to do so.
If our thoughts are thoughts of something, how does one explain Regulative Cognition such as "simplicity" and "consistency." We can't perceive such tendencies as direct impressions. We got them somehow external from the world; the how is a good, simple question.

Perhaps external; maybe so external that it lead to a point of conversion, similar to the point where infinity meets nothingness, the external force of this type of cognition is fully grounded and manifested in the internal construction of us. It is also essential to our judgments about the world. Where judgments determine our view of the world. If so, our view of the world is thus determinately composed/structured in due dependence on these Regulative thoughts (thirst for simplicity and hunger for consistency), and if they are absolutely pure a priori cognition, they are fundamental to our way of life, therefore determine: the practically of our actions in every single way. Thus intentions are grounded in intentions, in intentions ans so on. The basis of this feature may have been causal. That as it may, how/where it started from one event, and transformed and configured thus forth, it still does not take away from its determinacy.

Actions are determined, for our view is determined. The judgment upon our actions are determined due to the boundaries of thought. The alteration, or the purported choice to alternate the actions are accordingly set up. The life lived, is only a life lived thus. determinacy

Occupation, realization of one's position

Police responded to a 911-call at 4:48 a.m. at the suburban Virginia home Kellermann shared with his wife Donna and 5-year-old daughter Grace.

This is the posting, regarding the suicide of the Freddie Mac official, David Kellermann. He decided to exit this realm. One can only speculate if there are others. It was a choice, chosen for reasons. Reasons are the sweats and bi-product of an activity done by minds. However the decision to exit has another dimension. Reasons may have been upon David, but the cause lay somewhere besides him. What caused this incident? Reasons, in the most strict sense, are ultra private. Causes, can be speculated and analyzed. Why did this happen?

Actions are evaluated by entities of judgment. Entities of judgment come in many shape and form. The law is an entity of judgment. One's parents are definitely entities of judgment. The ref is the epitome of this function. To evaluate an action, to determine its fit or misfit one appeals to certain of such entities. Actions are thus two fold, those that lead to failures and those that are successful. Something must have lead him to be embarrassed by one or some of his failures. Perhaps a disappointment of such occurrence of a misfit. That's the general theme of his reasons for his decision. In respect the cause of such decision however, one must trace back. But the theme of such discussion will mainly be about this notion of "misfit." which entity of judgment was he acting in accordance with? What is the structure, shape and form of such entity? Its birth, its status and its future? What ideology was he acting in accordance with, discovering that, will be discovering the cause of such misfortune?

It would be too easy to just quote Marxist notion of anhilation of the laborer, but it also won't be any less legitimate. However, to merely pointing the blame upon the system of maximum efficiency for having the tendecy to cause such unfortunes would be too weak, naiive and would not address the responsibility of the customers who buy into such systems. I propose that though we may not have full freedom, in that we are always living in some system, some context and with the bounds of some policies and ways of thought, we have some freedom in how we position ourselves within those contexts. Meaning, though the culture which one lives in is the large set with it's general and macro boundaries, one can (maybe by sacrifising and manipulating) extend and position himself in the best (the best for him) position within such realm. For that is the meaning of "over coming your circumstances." Basketball players, actors and even some of our favored politicians and scientists have over come their status and achieved the best positions. In retro-respect a figure like Wittgenstein or St. Agustine over came the wealth of their families to engage themselves in a deeper inquiries and those looked to locate themselves with in their best positions. Poverty and wealth can be burdened upon me, but I have some reach and strength to over come them.

Ignorance and constant thinking, hollow thoughts and esclatingly busy thoughts, desires and needs; these all are oposite circumstances that I have limited power of will. Limited in respect to the circumstances and to my power of will it self. That means, if unsatisfactory to me (me is a technical term), I can address it and reach to alter that position. [Metaphore: while descending on ropes down a clif, the rope may run short. One reaches to wines or ropes that run deeper/longer.] But first one needs to realize that the rope will run short. To be successful one must realize to some extent the destination of his path and his general position of where he is at. To do that one can't just follow with faith, of reaching the grounds, through the same path that others have landed. To do so, is to be in genuine. For the ropes may present themselves as strong, long and the best for one, for the other they may run short, weak and fail.

Can it be that the cause of such unfortune is due to following a path, according to an entity of judgment? In other words, climbing the corporate ladders, worshiping the manifesto of those institutions, with out questioning your why? Without knowing where he is at, man due to his nomadi nature is always on the move. Is he lost after the move or is he just lost?

For me (the ego less, the true Dasein, in child like psyche) it is misty. A haze covers the horizons, not knowing exactly which ropes are long and which will run short. Also there is the ego that shouts contrary things. This leads to hesitency and lack of spontaneity (lack of true Me). However difficult and hazy, it is important to try hard (for not everything is supposed to be easy) to locate myself.

The cause was due to the faith, the dedication to a path. The mistake was to do it with a wish. A wish that the rope will lead to perfect landing (the one of preceding successors), increased the haziness of the drop and in turn prevented the ego less self to realize the best position. Those who want to become doctors, lawyers, politicians and etc, must do it for the right, ego less sakes. Otherwise its a mistake to leave childish dreams unrealized, and children with out father for sake of another.

To the family, I am sorry for your loss. To people, be warned and realize the worth of your positioning.
